Answers to Common Questions
When do you open your books?
I have a form in the navigation bar that is always available. If you’d like to run your tattoo idea by me, fill out the form and Ill get back with you as soon as possible. Currently, my calendar is full until September 2024. I’m an artist that likes to take on ideas that interest me and or challenge me. I typically do not take on small projects but am happy to point you to the direction of an artist that I believe will.
What do you charge? Can you give me an estimate?
My rate is $150 an hour and full day options will be available for $600 per day.
I start charging when I am preparing your stencil or drawing directly on to your skin. If there are last minute changes to your design, I will start charging when making those changes. I do give rough estimates, but a lot of things can impact the time it will take to do your tattoo. Last minute changes, adding details, changing the size, the placement/area on your body are all factors so while I am pretty good at estimating, what it comes down to is how long your tattoo takes.
Do you take a deposit?
Yes. After we have discussed your idea/s and before dates are offered for an appointment, I take a $100 deposit. When that deposit is paid THEN I will offer you some available dates to schedule. Your deposit is deducted from the price of your tattoo the day your work is completed.
Why do I need to put down a deposit? Is my deposit refundable? What if I need to reschedule?
I take a deposit to guarantee your appointment. Putting down a deposit also lets me know you are serious about honoring your appointment. Deposits are non refundable, however I do work with people who need to be rescheduled. If you need to reschedule your appointment, I require 24 hours notice for your deposit to be transferable. Deposits can only be transferable one time. I do not transfer deposits from one person to another though, so if you've decided you don't want your tattoo and you'd like to give your deposit to a friend I won't be able to do that.
What is the tattoo designing process?
I try to start designing about a week in advance. However, a sketch may not be provided until the day or evening before the appointment. I do not provide a completed design until the day of your appointment. Some tattoos are entirely drawn directly on tp skin the day of the appointment, so I will general provide reference images that will show case what route I will take.
Do you take Walk-Ins?
No.
Where are you located? What are your hours?
I have a private tattoo studio on my property in the country at 1124 S 108th St, McCune, KS. This means you should plan for a little dirt road travel.
How do I pay?
I can accept deposits with card, venmo, or cashapp but only accept cash payments on the day of your appointment.
Do you tattoo on minors?
The state of Kansas requires prior written *and* notarized consent of the parent or court appointed guardian of all minors and the person giving such consent must be present during the tattooing procedure. Im am selective of all tattoo requests regardless.
Kansas Board of Cosmetology.
Can I bring a friend/my kid/music/entertainment with me during my appointment?
I do not allow children in the studio while I am tattooing. As for friends and entertainment, I don't mind as long as it isn't affecting the quality of your tattoo.
I sent you a message, when can I expect a response?
If your message can be answered by one of my FAQ questions, I wont answer. I will try to get back with you as soon as possible with either an acceptance of your project or the latter if you have filled out a booking form.
What style of tattooing do you prefer?
My portfolio on Instagram and my gallery here on this site, showcase what I enjoy working on. Also, I f***ing love dragons.
I am breastfeeding and my doctor has cleared me to get a tattoo, will you tattoo me?
The short answer is no. I'm aware that there are countless sources and even doctors that suggest it is okay to be tattooed while breastfeeding, heck, even the first result to pop up if you google "Can I get a tattoo while breastfeeding?" from whattoexpect.com says: "When going to a reputable tattoo artist there should be no concerns about the ink or blood born diseases." However, evidence also shows that breastfeeding can weaken your immune system. Tattoos are open wounds in which bacterial infections can potentially pass through to breast milk, especially during the healing period. So, even though I can guarantee a safe and clean environment during your tattoo, I cannot personally supervise that each client follows aftercare instructions. The moment you walk out of my shop door, it's up to you to care of your tattoo properly, and bacteria can come in contact with a tattoo in many environments if it isn't cared for properly or even by accident. So, even with a doctor's clearance, I must stand by my personal ethics. While the potential for infection is a small risk, I feel that even a small risk is too large to potentially jeopardize your precious baby's health.
How do I heal my tattoo? Can I use a healing film?
Aftercare.
Can I use a numbing cream?
I like to use some Bactine during a tattoo session and feel that that helps take some of the edge off. As far as creams go, I’m okay with some and against others. You need to ask for approval before your appointment. Either way, if you’d like to use a numbing cream or spray before or during your tattoo, you need to accept that you are experimenting with your tattoo’s quality and healing process. Everyone has a different response to numbing agents. A cream that worked great for your friend, may only last 10 minutes on you. Additionally, if a cream has affected the natural state of your skin, I may have to stop and reschedule your appointment. If you apply numbing cream to your skin before your appointment and withhold that information, know that I can tell.
No-show policy:
If you do not show for your appointment, your deposit pays for that day. Another deposit is required to book further appointments.
